Before and after

AT THE START - The site was an enclosed rectangle rubble site which ws enclosed on two sides by an existing beech hedge, a guesthouse bungalow on another and the new swimming pool build on the forth side.

BRIEF - The brief was to create a swimming pool courtyard garden to compliment the new poolhouse and be a place to have summer parties in.

DESIGN PROCESS - It was important to ensure that the small enclosed area gave a feeling of space whilst lending itself to entertaining in. It was therefore broken down into three main zones:

  1. Terrace and seating for BBQ’s
  2. Softscape to relax in and ensuring we maximise the summer sun
  3. The main entrance into the space linked the house and the pool together effectively, and that the path connecting the pool garden and the tennis court behind flowed and that these areas linked all the areas of the garden as well as possible.

OVERVIEW - It is in it first season but is already maturing into its backbone structure very well and is now just waiting for the hot English summer next year for the clients to enjoy it to its full!
